Our Drapery Yardage Calculator is quick and easy to use. Answer a few questions and learn the exact yardage needed (down to the pattern match!). No annoying charts or equations just the answers you need.
To begin, you must choose “Draperies” from the “Let’s Begin” Dropdown Menu. The calculator will NOT work if you skip this step. You will need to select between a single or a pair. (A single panel pulls from one side across the window. A pair draws from the center.)
Enter the width of the rod or track you will be using followed by the finished length desired.
Choose the heading you desire for this fabulous new curtain. The header will determine the fullness of the drapery. You may choose 2 - 3 times fullness.
- Pinch Pleat - the classic 3 prong pleat that is tacked 4-5 inches from the top of the drape. This is also called a
- French Pleat. 2.5 - 3 times fullness is the market standard. Our clients prefer 2 1/2 times fullness.
- Euro Pleat - this is a variation on the Pinch Pleat. This three pronged pleat is tacked at the top of the curtain. The look is crisp and smart and a bit more modern. Again 2 1/2 times fullness works best.
- Goblet Pleat - this pleat begins as a French Pleat. The pleating is then opened up to give the look of a chalice/goblet.
- Box Pleat - Also called an Inverted Pleat. Casual in feel - this is a perfect header if you are going to have curtains that do not need to function. This style is best “dressed out” and left to look amazing gracing your window.
- Grommet - Grommet headings are still all the rage. Please note that the minimum fullness for for this style to close is 1 1/2 times full. We prefer two times fullness.
- Rod Pocket - Designed to slip onto a pole. These curtains look best tied back. The pocket will not allow the curtain to function. It is best left in one position. Depending on the fabric 2 1/2 - 3 times full works best.
- Tab Top - Tab Top curtains are fun and playful. There is no need for rings - your wallet with thank you. 2 times fullness is sufficient.
Then comes the most amazing part of the process - the FABRIC!!! Enter the width of the fabric in inches you will be using and the VERTICAL repeat in inches.
Press that “Calculate” button and the burning question “how much fabric will I need?’ will be answered.
